چکیده

In this study, a three-dimensional elastic-plastic dynamic finite element model is used to simulate the alveolar bone temperature rise during dental implant drilling. An experimental setup was designed to verify the feasibility of the proposed dynamic finite element model. The peak bone temperature within the alveolar bone is investigated through both simulations and experiments. The results indicate that the proposed elastic-plastic dynamic finite element model can provide a good prediction of the alveolar bone temperature rise during the implant drilling. The result also indicated that the peak bone temperature occurs at the interface of cortical bone and cancellous bone for a fixed feeding rate. FEM investigation of drilling conditions on heat generation during teeth implantation

Abstract The first step of implanting teeth is to drill a hole in the jaw bone. Excessive temperature produced during drilling is one of the destructive factors for bony tissue. If the temperature generation during surgical drilling exceeds the critical temperature, it could lead to osteonecrosis. This research intends to study drilling parameters such as drilling speed, feed rate, cooling con...

Evaluating the impact of length and thread pitch on the stress distribution in dental implants and surrounding bone using finite element method

longevity of osseointegrated implants are intensely influenced by biomechanical factors. Control of these factors prevents mechanical complications, which include fracture of screws, components, or materials veneering the framework. In this study, the impact of length and threads pitch of dental implants on the stress distribution and maximum Von Mises stress in implant-abutment complex and ja...

Effects of a drill diameter on the temperature rise in a bone during implant site preparation under clinical conditions.

Heat, generated during the drilling of a dental implant site preparation, leads to a temperature rise and consequently to a thermal injury of the bone tissue surrounding the implant site, which can cause the subsequent implant failure. In this article, we present new findings related to the temperature rise during implant site drilling under real conditions on a bovine rib bone specimen. The ex...
